On November 6th, 2013, at only 4 years old, Yacouba suffered from a dangerously high fever. Yacouba’s mother took him to visit a Muso-supported Community Health Worker (CHW) for care. When the CHW evaluated Yacouba, she noticed an urgent warning sign and accompanied him to the closest health center. There, he was diagnosed with severe malaria and immediately referred to a hospital where he received life-saving treatment, including a necessary blood transfusion.
