Overview
Description
More than five million children die every year and more than half the world’s population lives without access to essential health care. To take on these enormous injustices, Muso is growing rapidly. We aim to reach up to one million patients directly with proactive care, and to improve care for tens of millions of people through changes in global policy and practice. Muso is growing exponentially. We are working to raise $70M over the next three years to care for up to one million patients across two to three countries and improve care for tens of millions of people through changes in global policy and practice.
Foundation and corporate (F&C) partnerships form the backbone of Muso’s revenue, comprising 70-80% of funds raised annually to date. This role oversees a Foundations and Corporations team working with 60+ F&C partners, and determines strategy and priorities for the F&Cs sub-team in Muso’s development department. Given the outsized role F&C funding comprises within Muso’s larger development team, this role also oversees a Development Operations Coordinator, who in turn supports development operations for the full development team.
This role focuses on strategy and expansion of funding partnerships, and therefore spends a higher level of effort on identification and acquisition of new funding opportunities than on management of existing pipeline opportunities, which are largely delegated to the F&C sub-team, with the HFP maintaining key strategic funder relationships. The HFP will play a key role in identifying, cultivating, and engaging a wide range of stakeholders, working closely with Muso teammates across three countries in Africa and the United States. The HFP will lead strategy, identification and pursuit of new F&C funding opportunities, will manage their own small targeted portfolio of prospects and donors, and will serve as Muso’s expert on F&C fundraising.
This role oversees the F&C sub-team, consisting of: a Grants Associate, who supports F&Cs with prospect research, proposal and report drafting, and grants management; two Foundation Partnerships Managers, who manages the majority of donor relations to deliver on the strategy determined by the HFP; and a development operations lead. Through development operations position management, this HFP role oversees team operations, including Muso’s Salesforce CRM database and its growth for development team pipeline management, grant administration, and collaboration with other teams to support development operations and grants management.
