For twenty years, Dr. Ari Johnson has helped shape Muso as co-founder and CEO, leading with a bold and unwavering vision: that no one should die waiting for care. Built in deep partnership with communities, frontline providers, governments, and teammates, this vision has guided Muso’s journey from its earliest days to a global movement for health equity.

Under Ari’s leadership, Muso developed and scaled the Rapid Care modelgrounded in the values of justice, solidarity, impact, and community. This approach brings care directly to families at the first signs of illness, ensuring the right care at the right time. Through this work, Muso has reached more than 600,000 people since 2008 and demonstrated what’s possible in ending preventable deaths.

In partner communities in Mali, child mortality has fallen by more than 90%, and the model has influenced national health strategies in Mali, Côte d’Ivoire, and beyond.

As Muso enters its next chapter, Ari has announced his decision to pass the torch to a new CEO. Following the transition, Ari will continue contributing to Muso’s mission in a new role focused on policy and partnerships, helping to connect local innovation with global change.

We are deeply grateful for Ari’s vision, leadership, and enduring commitment to impact. As we begin the search for Muso’s next CEO, we invite our community to help us spread the word and identify the next leader who will carry this work forward.

Together, we look ahead to reaching more than 20 million people with rapid care in the next five yearscontinuing to build a future where early, accessible healthcare is a reality for all.

We invite you to help us spread the word as we look for our next CEO: https://mis.tl/muso-ceo
